Thanks for suggestions but sorry again. Adding the code gets the same response "invalid password" every time. I also tried to re-enter the password in the settings of the Apple TV and same again. The password needed each and every time there is a new programme or film or resumption of play when paused and turned off.

I keep getting prompted to sign in to Netflix. Select Apple IDs. Select Sign out of Apple ID. Once signed out, exit to the Home screen and relaunch Settings. Select iTunes Store. Select Sign In. Enter your Apple ID and password and try Netflix again.
